Almost every town in Switzerland organizes a Christmas market where people can enjoy a cup of hot wine, eat local food, enjoy time with their friends and, most importantly, make their kids happy. Peperonata, the tasty peppers recipe

Are you thinking what to cook with peppers ? Here is a tasty recipe that you can easily cook with a yellow, red and green pepper . It is a healthy food recipe that is easy to make, it uses just a few healthy ingredients and you will get a delicious classic peperonata that you can enjoy warm, on a piece of bread or as a side dish with a steak.   Classic Peperonata Ingredients for peperonata: 3 sweet peppers (I recommend yellow, red and green-they will give more color to the food) 2-3 mushrooms Some garlic and a small onion  4 peeled and chopped tomatoes 200 ml of tomato juice Salt, pepper and oregano (you can add other seasonings that you like) 50 ml of olive oil How to cook peperonata Firstly, chop the vegetables. The garlic and the onions in small pieces, the mushrooms cut each of them in 8 pieces. The peppers cut them Julienne (small sticks). Then heat the oil and add the garlic and the onion. Grande Dixence  is Europe's tallest dam and the tallest gravity dam in the world being located in the canton of Valais, 40 kilometers from Sion, Switzerland . It's a fabulous construction that has written history, until recently being the tallest dam in the world. Today we have a new recipe on our blog: pasta with vegetables and Gruyère cheese. A delightful and easy to cook pasta that goes well with a glass of white Lavaux wine. You can cook it in around 30 minutes. Pasta with vegetables and Gruyere cheese Ingredients for 2 lovely people: 200 gr of pasta (penne works better) 5 mushrooms 2 carrots 2 asparagus a touch of garlic salt and pink pepper (you can use any pepper) oregano 50 gr of Gruyere cheese for a touch of local Swiss flavor 1 spoon of olive oil How to cook pasta with vegetables and Gruyere cheese: It is an easy to cook recipe. Start by boiling some water with salt. When it is boiling add the pasta and cook it for the time mentioned on the package. Meantime heat a pan. Bisse du Torrent Neuf is a superb mountain hike in Switzerland , easy to walk alongside family, friends and children. The hike will offer you spectacular, unbelievable views that will always remain in your memory. You will go through the forest, along the mountains, through a tunnel and cross 4 magnificent suspended bridges. With luck, you can see black goat families on the alpine meadows, just a few inches away from you. The hike takes about 4 hours, but it depends on how much you want to stop for pictures or if you want to make a picnic. Bisse du Torrent Neuf is located in the canton of Valais, a few kilometers from the city of Sion . Access and parking are free, and you can make a donation for volunteers along the route. Grand Saint Bernard - the Swiss highway to heaven

The Grand Saint Bernard road pass reaches 2,469 meters and is the third highest alpine passage in Switzerland. It connects the Swiss city of Martigny to the Italian city of Aosta. Throughout its tens of kilometers, you will see a magnificent road that passes by the lakes of Toules and Saint Bernard and the Alpine peaks of Mort, Telliers, Fourchon, Grand Golliat and Velan. It is an ancient passage used by the Romans or even by Napoleon to enter into Italy. The landscape is magnificent. You start climbing through a forest, then you reach the pine trees and after the trees disappear, you see only the imposing mountains. It's a fantastic feeling: it's just you and the mighty mountains. For better admiring the nature you can stop at one of the car parks in the area or you can choose a hiking trail . Go and see the passage of Grand Saint Bernard ! You will be amazed by its beauty and the imposing force of the surrounding mountains.

Today I will start a series of articles about cooking. There will be no old and famous recipes for Swiss food but rather food inspired by the Swiss lifestyle. And what food do the Swiss people love? It's simple; something on the grill! So, we will start the series of Swiss recipes with: salad with grilled vegetables. Swiss recipes - Salad with grilled vegetables It is a light and easy to cook warm salad . For two persons we need: 200 grams of mushrooms,  5-6 asparagus, 1 carrot, 1 pepper, olive oil, cheese that can be placed on the grill (halloumi type),  salt and pepper, a little lemon juice.  And for plating some lettuce leaves and a piece of apio (celery tails). Ingredients for the swiss style salad How is the salad with warm vegetables made? Cut the vegetables into medium strips and season them with salt and pepper.
